Ricardo Freire – Partner
Team Criminal Law
Litigation attorney specializing in criminal law, criminal compliance, and corporate criminal liability. Between 2002 and 2012, he served as a Prosecutor with the Chilean Public Prosecutor’s Office. In addition, during 2008 and 2009, he worked as legal advisor to the National Prosecutor.
He was also a member of the coordinating team responsible for the implementation of Chile’s Criminal Procedure Reform in the Metropolitan Region. Furthermore, he participated in the legislative process of criminal procedure laws, representing the Public Prosecutor’s Office before the National Congress.

- Professor in the Diploma Program (Diplomado) on the New Oral Criminal Procedure and Advanced Courses in Oral Litigation, aimed at public criminal defenders (defensores penales públicos) and federal judges in Mexico.
- Served as teaching assistant (profesor ayudante) in Criminal Procedural Law at the Universidad de Chile.
- Speaker at courses and seminars on criminal procedure, in Chile and abroad.
- Attorney for the Association of Prosecutors of Chile (Asociación de Fiscales de Chile), representing deputy prosecutors (fiscales adjuntos) in criminal proceedings arising from the exercise of their duties.
